Quilts by Kids and Art Education

I'll soon have a couple of very special quilts to share with you. They were primarily designed by children, but the actual construction was done by our schools artist in residence, Diana Swim and myself. It has taken a while to do all the finishing touches, but they are nearly ready to hang in our school. I will try to get some pictures when I am at school today and post them this evening or tomorrow.

I have been considering starting a second blog in which I might talk about close up details of the art that I have my students do in class. I have been mulling about and I'm trying to think of a catchy name for an art education blog. Our students return to school next Monday and it would be fun to roll this out on the first day.

That's interesting. I've wondered about doing a quilting project with the children at school, but am afraid of taking on too much. Perhaps after Christmas, lots of Music this coming term. I'd be interested to see your photos.
